Bill turned 46 on Tuesday. He loves seafood so we celebrated at home with shrimp, scallops, and crab. Will picked out the card and the cake and he did it perfectly. The card said on the outside, "Big Foot wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday." And the inside quipped, "but he doesn't believe in you." Will chose an Oreo cookie cake that must have been delicious because Faith and Ivy were asking for some all week long. (Will is still not eating treats. He has really amazed me!)
We then watched the movie Free Solo, which was quite thrilling. Bill and I both mentioned it to each other several times again throughout the week.
Bill is still helping out at Access Health Dental, but is frustrated a lot with many of the managerial decisions. He still hikes most weekends and that helps keep him happy. He also runs pretty regularly throughout the week. He leaves work early every Monday to pick up Will and Ivy at the rec center because that is my late day at work. He notices and takes care of all the things I'm less aware of: making sure that Will gets the physical exercise he needs to stay happy, tax planning, teasing Ivy (and he is the only one who can get away with it), making sure the oil changes are happening regularly, knowing where most industries are headed and how key technologies are influencing those industries, managing investments, any noise of a machine that just doesn't sound right...in fact any noise at all that doesn't belong is noticed and investigated.
So grateful to have been a part of the last 20 years of his 46. These videos are from Sky Zone last month.

Holy moly! Your man doesn't just flip, he does totally fancy tricks! Twists, laid out mid air! And we LOVED Free Solo. Our favorite line still gets quoted all the time, "This is just so adequate!" And a close second, "Anyone can be cozy and happy." A bit crazy, but definitely memorable.
I have to admit, I felt impatient waiting for Bill to get ready to flip. Then when he did his super duper awesome flip it all made sense. It does take a second to prep yourself for that. He's lucky that you like his tricks. Your sound effects really added. Tell Will I'm really impressed with his personal resolve.
