Faith and Collin came! It was heavenly!! They are such a great couple and we missed them so much these last few months. We must make an effort to get up to Reno over winter break. Faith is still so much fun with her cute giggle and fun work stories. Collin is one of those people that makes things better just by being there. He is wonderful to have around. They are still very much in love and it's fun to have happily married newlyweds here.
Our weekend started out with the Turkey Trot at Dragon Ridge, of course! Emma, Collin's sister was able to join us and she even medaled in her age group!

| Bill and I walked a mile instead of running the 5k this year. It was fun to be able to see Ivy kill it at the end and cheer everyone on. |

| Will's cross country friends (who are seniors this year) came and took 1st and 2nd overall. Bill helped them all celebrate by sprinkling water all over them. |

| Ivy achieved all her goals both of winning overall for women and beating Will (who hasn't run since May, just had in ingrown toenail removed, and weighs 20 pounds more than he did when he was running!) |

| Ivy was by far the fastest female. She came in 10th overall. |
Thanksgiving dinner took a minute to cook. I didn't get the turkey in the oven until we got home from the race and it was a 20 pound turkey! Everyone was nice and hungry by the time we ate. The food was completely adequate. I'm never very impressed by my cooking.
Friday we went on a mine tour in Nelson. It was waaaay more than just the mine tour! Nelson has a population of 6, but is mostly privately owned by hoarders who sell things like necklaces made of scorpions in amber and rocks and such. It was really fun. the mine was pretty impressive!

Saturday we showed Collin the wetlands. We hadn't been in a long time and they keep adding and improving it. It's a nice walk and the weather was pretty good.

| Will took the whole weekend off work and it was so great to have him around. On Friday evening he made us special Wetzel pretzels at home and taught us all how to roll and flip a pretzel out. You can tell he has trained a lot of people to do this. |
There was also plenty of hot tubbing and some polar plunging as well. My cousin, Valerie Lofswold and her husband, Ty came to see us on a polar plunge night. It was great to catch up with her. We walked up the street a little bit to show them a view of The Sphere. We talked and watched it for a bit while Collin and Will climbed to the top of the bathrooms at the park :)
We ended with Krispy Kreme donuts and hugs all around. It's not a bad way to end a trip :) We will miss Faith and Collin, but so so so happy they were able to come for the whole weekend!

Ah! This all looked so wonderful! I am so happy that Will took time off work and also taught you guys to make pretzels. (Have I told you Alan is related to some Wetzels? JoAnn's mom was Alice Wetzel.) I am so happy Ivy crushed it at the turkey trot! And that Faith and Collin are still so in love. And that Emma came. And that you and Bill walked together. And it cracked me up that you're not impressed with your own cooking. I've been impressed with my kids' cooking, and that gives me a little more time to do a better job on mine. ;)
I miss you guys! I went to the park all the time that has a beautiful view area on top of the bathrooms. That's where I played with the seeds of death. Or, in other words, the seeds from the Texas mountain laurel tree. You guys do such great things together. I hope you had a great time with Valerie. She certainly gets around, doesn't she?
