Scout Camp Week

Will and Bill left for scout camp on Saturday. We get Bill back today - hooray! Will won't be home until Saturday. Maybe "The Spider Dance" will help us when we need our Will fix this week:

We decided to surprise him while he is gone and paint his room. When we bought this house we called it the "Pooh Bear House" because one of the rooms was painted a bright yellow and blue with a Winnie the Pooh border going around the center of the room. The border was coming off when we moved in, so we ended up with a pink stripe instead of a Pooh Bear border. The paint has bugged me for 6.5 years now. This weekend we fixed it.

Saturday morning right after Bill and Will left, we moved everything out of Will's room. We vacuumed, washed walls and floor boards and wrapped his bed in cellophane (because we couldn't take it out of the room - it was assembled in there).

Then we took a break for gymnastics, a trip to Loews to buy paint, and lunch.
Then we taped up the room and really got busy painting. Ivy got the big roller, I got the little roller and Faith got the paint brush.
We also painted each other a little bit for good measure. We had to buy an extra can of primer, so we had plenty to play around with :)

Ivy got a pretty good video of it:

For dinner we went to our favorite pizza place, Bistros Pizza, but had to admit that it wasn't as good as The Pie Pizzeria.
Then came the final coat of colored paint.

Below is the finished product. His room now looks like the rest of the house and doesn't assault your eyes upon entering.

We are secretly wondering if Will is going to even notice because now his room looks just right instead of crazy.

It looks great! I'm impressed at your prep work and how you made a chore look really fun. Also I'm impressed you got Will to do the spider dance in Target. Is he a real teenager or not?!

I'm never a fan when people take bright colors out of their lives, but I understand why you did. Nice work. It looks professional. You three look cute.
