The birds sometimes fly home

This week an injured bird found refuge in our \courtyard. It didn't look like a baby, but it wasn't fully grown either. Maybe it was an adolescent bird. When I cam home from my walk one day I noticed this dove sitting on the ledge of our courtyard and it wasn't getting scared off. Later is when Ivy saw her injured adolescent bird on the ground below. She only left to get food. Bill saw her feed the smaller bird a worm.

It was only stuck for a day or two. Pretty soon it had flown off.

Faith anchored this week. It was fun to get more chances to see her. She also did a story on tenants' rights that was really good. There was also a funny story about an international amphibian smuggling ring. A guy in Tahoe was trying to smuggle illegal newts in.

Our house is seeing more naps in the summer. Luna likes to crawl up on the white chair and mess up the blankets that I have protecting the chair.

Me after a nap and Will resting behind me.

Bill taking a small nap.

This weekend we went to St. George for the wedding reception of Cody Ryan. He is starting at Fidelity this summer and his new wife is a nurse. It was great to be with friends and get to congratulate them.

Friends from the ward: Carrie Ketchum + granddaughter (we also worked together at Basic), Amy & Matt Wilkinson) and the Ryans (Talon, Gaynelle & Bryan and Derek).

Derek and Ivy all grown up (sigh). They did lunch bunch together kindergarten year. We were just missing Luke Wilkinson for the grown-up picture here.

We let Ivy get some night hours of driving on the way home. (We also stopped at Eureka casino in Mesquite for our favorite prime rib dinner special.)

I practiced mewing (it's not all it's cracked up to be) and took selfies while Ivy drove and I was in the back seat.

And the best part of the week was that Faith and Collin came to spend the night last night. Collin was just getting some extra flight time, so they flew into Henderson last night and flew out this morning. It was the very best thing ever to get to see them!

Oh it looks like you are doing summer just right! I loved your bird story and your naps. And it cracks me up that Faith got to do a story about newt smuggling. The crimes these days! Hahaha! The Ivy grown up pictures made me slow down and really look. Wow. She does look like a beautiful, grown up mix of you and Bill. Derek, on the other hand, looks like he may mature some more. ;) So much fun that you got to go to a wedding with friends. Were you wearing your MOB dress? Also, Bill looks good and relaxed. I’m hopeful he is seeing less pain and is healing from his surgery.

Everybody was so nice to be a backdrop as you and Ivy took a photo together. I can see what you mean about glowing when you get a chance to be around your daughter, Faith! Colin is always glowing. It must be her influence. I like it that you have a house where everybody naps when they feel like it.
